Sathvik Adiga is one of the most decorated junior players to come out of Karnataka. He trains under Jayaram Ramanna at Chess Shoots, Bangalore — the same academy that shaped several of India's recent title-holders — and studies at RNSIS, Bangalore.
His breakthrough came early. By February 2024, at just 12 years and 7 months, he was ranked 95th in the world among all juniors and inside the world's top ten sub-juniors, holding a top-ten position in his age category continuously for a full year. On 4 September 2024, aged 13 years, 2 months and 19 days, he became the youngest International Master ever produced by Karnataka.
Silver in the U-7 Open category at the 7th National School Chess Championships (Bhubaneswar, 2017), followed by Bronze in the U-8 Open category at the 8th National School Chess Championships (Aurangabad, 2018).
Part of Team India winning Silver in the U-8 Open Blitz category at the Asian Chess Championship in Sri Lanka, and finished 6th individually in the same event.
Won the Karnataka State U-12 Championship. Took 1st runner-up in the U-10 category at both the FIDE World Cadets & Youth Rapid Grand Prix and the Western Asian Online Youth Chess Championship, adding Team Gold in the U-10 Open at the latter. Placed 5th in the U-10 Open at the FIDE World Cadets & Youth Super Final in December.
Silver medallist at the Karnataka State U-15 Championship (2022) and the Karnataka State U-13 Championship (2023).
Entered the Top 100 Juniors at position 95, aged 12 years and 7 months, and was listed among the Top-10 World Sub-Juniors. Reached 2445 — his career high at the time — and a peak ranking of World No. 2 in the U-13 age category across February and March 2024.
Earned the International Master title at 13 years, 2 months and 19 days — the youngest IM ever from Karnataka.
Runner-up at the Teplice Open in the Czech Republic with a performance rating of 2639. Ranked India No. 2 in the U-14 category in November 2025.
Crossed 2400 standard again in mid-2026, rated 2408 on the July 2026 FIDE list.
